"A dog named Kate—and her Geko 201"

My dog, Kate, is now the proud owner of a Geko 201. It took a bit of work to create a suitable harness, but now it stays on her back quite well and doesn't get in the way of her running. She attracts plenty of attention at dog trails as the only one there with a digital dashboard.

I’ve added a page to her Web site (http://www.KateTheDog.com) with her latest top speed report: 29 mph. Friends have joked that she should have Garmin race sponsorship. I could see a new harness with Garmin prominently displayed on the side—a new trend in Jack Russell terrier racing.

We contacted Mike to ask him a little more about Kate. Here’s what they’re planning:

One of my other schemes is to leave the GPS on her at the dog park. I know she runs around a bunch, so I'm curious what kind of distance she covers. I'll look at the trip computer and plot out the track log on a map or aerial photo.
